Thanks again to Scott, who spotted this '26 433 for $25,000 at Essendon, Vic on Just Cars. Link to ad - www.justauto.com.au/justcars/cars-for-sale/1926-PACKARD-MODEL-433-JCW3979426?backurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.justauto.com.au%2Fjustcars%2Fsearch%3Fcurrent_page%3D1%26urlname%3D%26search_location_state%3DVIC%26location%3DEnter%2Byour%2Bsuburb%26radius%3D%26search_vehicle_type%3D%26search_type_make%3DPACKARD%26search_type_model%3D%26search_category%3D%26body_type%3D%26search_details_earliest_year%3D%26search_details_latest_year%3D%26search_details_lowest_mileage%3D%26search_details_highest_mileage%3D%26search_details_lowest_price%3D%26search_details_highest_price%3D%26search_details_transmission%3D%26ext_colour%3D%26condition_search%3D%26keywords%3DWhat%2Bare%2Byou%2Blooking%2Bfor%253F&backtext=ResultsDescription from Ad " This Packard is the rare long wheel base 7 passenger sedan. It is known as the 6 cylinder 433, meaning the 4th series, built during 1926 and 1927, and having the longer wheel base of 133 inches. It has spent many years in storage, without the engine being run. It ran very well previously, but now has compression in just 2 cylinders, indicating a valve grind is necessary. I have a head gasket and a collection of many more assorted spare parts. " Methinks needs more than a valve grind, after sitting for so long some valves at least are most likely "stuck". But overall looks pretty solid.

On Gumtree is a '37 115C Sedan at Mt Druitt for $5,000. Looks to be only a "parts car", it's very rusty, or something only the most dedicated would aspire to restoring. Don't be misled by the title, it is a '37 115C, there was commentary on Facebook(can't find it now) but from memory the VN plate says "1082-xxxxx!! www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mount-druitt/cars-vans-utes/1934-packard-super-6-sedan/1139420734Description on ad - " Here i have a barn find from deceast estate ,1934 packard super 6 complete car very rusty can be fixed worth its money in parts leather trim all there last regoed 2009 has lugage rack this car has been valuated as is by shannons for the price advertized" It might be "valuated" by Shannons @ $5,000 BUT obtaining that in a sale is another matter altogether IMHO.

Currently in Just Cars is a '22 Tourer @ Pambula P.O.A. www.justauto.com.au/justcars/cars-for-sale/1922-PACKARD-TOURER-JCMD3991502?backurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.justauto.com.au%2Fjustcars%2Fsearch%3Fcurrent_page%3D1%26urlname%3D%26search_location_state%3DNSW%26location%3DEnter%2Byour%2Bsuburb%26radius%3D%26search_vehicle_type%3D%26search_type_make%3DPACKARD%26search_type_model%3D%26search_category%3D%26body_type%3D%26search_details_earliest_year%3D%26search_details_latest_year%3D%26search_details_lowest_mileage%3D%26search_details_highest_mileage%3D%26search_details_lowest_price%3D%26search_details_highest_price%3D%26search_details_transmission%3D%26ext_colour%3D%26condition_search%3D%26keywords%3DWhat%2Bare%2Byou%2Blooking%2Bfor%253F&backtext=ResultsText of Ad - " 1922 PACKARD TOURER Very nice original early Packard, 6 cylinder, reliable club car many years with the same family. A true treasured vehicle, drives beautiful. #2085" I know a little about the car, being - Formerley owned by the Symons' family(Former PACA Members), the car had a long history with them and is basically a true "Original Survivor", in fact probably Australia's greatest expert on 1st Series Packards says this car has features many other 1st Series don't. The car did sit for about 10 years because of the health of the owner. But after some tender 'ministrations, mainly draining the old rotten fuel and replacing it with new fuel, it started fairly easily. Apart from the water pump needing to be rebuilt I believe little else was necessary to re-awaken it. The car was sold a couple of years ago to, I believe, Andrew Lidden. That sale was brokered by the dealer who now has it for sale!
